
Wild Cod Fillet
If you want to give your taste buds something different, you must give this cod recipe a try. It has a unique texture unlike any other fish, yet doesn’t have a strong flavor. It is a great blank slate for creating a unique taste. They are an excellent source of high quality protein as well as a rich source of iron, calcium, copper, and other minerals.
Ingredients
- 16 oz wild cod fillet
- 2 tsp dried tarragon
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 3 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp spring onion (chopped)
- 1 medium chopped shallot
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tbsp butter (unsalted)
- salt (to taste)
- group black pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Cut the fish into 3in by 2in rectangles. Line them up on the cutting board and start to marinate. Season with salt, black pepper, dried tarragon and set aside for 15 minutes to marinate.
- Turn the stove on medium high heat. Put the large pan on the stove and add in the avocado oil and the butter.
- Once the butter has melted add in the chopped shallots. Sauté for two minutes then add in the marinated cod fillet.
- Cook two minutes on each side and add the dark soy sauce to simmer for one more minute.
- Take it off the heat and garnish with chopped spring onion and sesame seeds before you serve.
Notes
Tips: Serve over steamed quinoa, buckwheat or pasta. Make sure you serve it warm.
