Grilled Chocolate Fish (Salmon)
I decided to name this recipe chocolate fish because that’s what my 3year old daughter called it when she saw it for the first time. This has been her favorite fish recipe for as long as I can remember. If you ask her what do you want to eat for dinner, her answer will be chocolate fish 8 out of 10 times
Ingredients
- 2 lb wild salmon
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 4 tbsp dark soy sauce
- ¼ cup light soy sauce
Instructions
- Cut the salmon into two inch pieces, place it in a deep dish skin side up.
- Pour the light soy sauce over the fish and let it sit for 20-30 minutes to marinate.
- After it is done marinating, flip the fish skin side down.
- Sprinkle with black pepper, garlic powder and finally drizzle with the dark soy sauce.
- Grill the fish two minutes on each side on medium heat.
Notes
Tips:
- This recipe can also be cooked in the oven. If so, preheat the oven to 390 F and put the fish in. Cook for about 10 to 12 minutes depending on how thick your fish is.
- I like to pair this fish with baby bok choy, but any vegetable or rice will be great.
