Creamy Mushroom Appetizer

Here is another vegetarian friendly dish for everyone to enjoy. This appetizer has the simplest ingredients, but it’s full of amazing flavor. All you need is fresh brown mushrooms, onion, sour cream to make it creamy, butter and the spices. In about 30 minutes you’ll have a perfect appetizer ready to be served to your friends and family.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb brown mushrooms
  • ½ medium onion
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 3 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tbsp organic butter
  • 2 tbsp cilantro or parsley (chopped)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • salt (to taste)
  • ground black pepper (to taste)

Instructions
 

  • Dice the mushrooms into bite size pieces. You want to make sure that the mushrooms are cut into similar sizes so they cook evenly.
  • Chop the onion into small chunks.
  • Turn the stove on to medium high heat.
  • Put a large pan on the stove and add in the oil, mushrooms and the onions at the same time.
  • Sauté the mushroom and the onions until the liquid has evaporated.
  • Once all the liquid has evaporated add the butter, sour cream and season with salt and black pepper.
  • Sauté for one more minute and take it off the heat.
  • Transfer the mixture into an oven-safe platter. You will be serving the dish in this as well, so choose accordingly.
  • Cover the mixture with the shredded mozzarella and put it in a preheated420F oven until there is a beautiful golden crust on top. (Approximately 10minutes).
  • Take it out of the oven and garnish with the chopped cilantro/parsley. Enjoy!

Notes

Tips: You want to serve this appetizer hot right out of the oven. Garnish with the cilantro or parsley right before you serve.
